From Jim Metrock: This summer Channel One is dismantling their studios in Hollywood. They are offering pieces of the Hacienda, as they call it, to children who enter a contest.
Maybe it’s time for Channel One not to remodel their studio but just shut it down.
Channel One’s web site says their studio will have a new look next school year. They had just redone the studio the previous school year.
Adding a fresh coat of paint to the Hacienda is like putting pearls around the neck of a pig. Sure, the pig looks nicer, but it’s still a pig. That’s the problem with the Channel One folks, they don’t want to acknowledge the truly bad situation they are in. Their company is a shell of its former self and the prospects look dismal.
It appears that Andrew Yani has left his position as a news anchor for the company. Channel One used to have eight anchors but the loss of advertisers and the continuing nationwide controversy over their show has hurt their bottom line.
There are now six reminding anchors.
