Gaze on this to understand how bad Channel One News was.

July 21, 2018

From Jim Metrock:

This is a piece of Channel One News sales literature.

It’s sickening.

Look at the face they used.  It’s a young person who is completely attentive to the Channel One TV screen.  He can’t go anywhere.  He can’t ask for the channel to be changed. He IS the captive audience Channel One was selling to advertisers.

“8,1 million teenagers in classrooms nationwide watch Channel One’s award-winning daily news program.  And since they’re not channel surfing, talking on the phone or getting snacks from the kitchen, they’re turning into the world and to you.  To reach the largest teen audience around, call (212) 508-6800.”

What Channel One News was saying is: You have candy bars to sell to kids. You can’t effectively reach them on their home TV. Advertise your delicious junk food here on Channel One and the kids WILL see your commercial. They HAVE to see your ad. We have their undivided attention.
