Jewel Kilcher (a.k.a. Jewel) is a recording artist in need of a comeback.
This is where you come in – if you are a taxpayer.
Get this – Jewel wants you to help foot the bill for her publicity tour.
Jewel had early success in the late 90’s then two years ago disappeared from the public view. This summer she put out a new CD named “0304”. When you drop out of sight for so long, you have to get the public’s attention when you attempt your comeback, and she sure did with her cover photo for the music magazine Blender. She has dropped her nice-girl image for a G-string and bustier. Jewel has now enlisted Channel One News to help her pump up her CD sales.
Channel One is using public school time to promote Jewel. This week a new contestwas announced. The main purpose of the contest is to remind students that Jewel is back and she’s hotter than ever.
Students are being encouraged to enter their school in the contest and the winner will have Jewel give a concert at the school (on taxpayer time).
Channel One says the purpose of the contest is to honor schools that are helping their communities.
Students are constantly being told on the in-school program to go to channelone.com and there Jewel is being pushed hard on kids.
Obligation’s Jim Metrock said, “This is another exampleof how Channel One News abuses the hospitality of schools. They are invited into schools, mainly because schools think they can’t get TV sets any other way, and Channel One behaves like the town drunk. Channel One is going to get schools into trouble with their communities.
The ‘winner’ of this contest will be providing a taxpayer-funded venue for Jewel to promote her new sexed-up image to kids. Channel One, of course, is the big winner because they get paid for exposing Jewel to 8 million students.”
