RJD2
He was born Ramble John Krohn aka RJD2. This hip-hop artist and producer likes publicity stills with blood on his face.
From Jim Metrock: Let’s take this one step at a time.
1
Here’s a CD by RJD2 called “The Colossus.” Although it does not have a parental warning on its cover it has explicit lyrics. (Record companies are not required to put parental warnings on CDs. It is totally voluntary. This company like many refuse to warn parents.)
Notice the fourth song is called “The Glow.” Also notice this is a current CD (released 2010) that needs to be promoted and advertised to maximize sales.
2
This is another CD by RJD2. Don’t know whether he is dead on the cover or just seriously injured. RJD2 is certainly not an artist a public school would want to promote to students. I include this to show RJD2 has a history of producing explicit content music.

WARNING!! Sorry for this, but here’s a sample of a RJD2 song. This lovely song is called F.H.H. You’ll see where the name comes from. RJD2 does a lot of instrumentals (he should make it 100%) but when he puts lyrics to his songs it is unfortunate.
F.H.H.
Keep tryin’ to keep it real by keepin’ it raw
While half of y’all still be keepin’ it flaw
And all the real heads scream ‘F*** hip hop!’
Until this mediocre bulls*** stops
Drug fiends let me show you the route
Who’s that m*****f***** still keepin the dope in the house?
It’s Mota mouth. who? it’s Mota mouth baby, it’s Mota mouth
Whenever I write, I put myself out of place from other cats
So it don’t sound like another brother’s rap
I smother tracks with raw s***, niggas aren’t able to bite
What I bring to the table is height
Then I easily superceed, niggas need what I got
Reason I’m hot, there’s no other raw season of pot
While most m*****f***** follow the guidelines and hit by 101
With battle I’ll crack all your gear and all your wack raps
You can’t be saved by your babbling or your backpack
Doing it for the love is great but you fake
And putting your s***out is a mistake nobody wants to make
{chorus}
Keep tryin’ to keep it real by keepin’ it raw
While half of y’all still be keepin’ it flaw
And all the real heads scream ‘F*** hip hop!’
Until this mediocre bulls*** stops
Drug fiends let me show you the route
Who’s that m*****f***** still keepin the dope in the house?
It’s Mota mouth. who? it’s Mota mouth baby, it’s Mota mouth
I got a big mouth and I ain’t scared to use it
One person’s key style allows everyone to abuse it
So what the f*** is your definition of underground?
Depressing beats and bleak cats who love the sound
Well I ain’t part of that, I’m tired of rapper’s garbage
I’m the part of the underground who only feels the raw shit
And I can take a nigga out regardless
You can bring your hardest artists and I’ll make ’em heartless
Some say they lyrically this, or lyrically that
Throwing lyrical in every rap and they lyrically wack
And many cats rhyme over tracks nobody fiends for
Don’t f*** around with me, if you can only f*** with keyboards
Just ’cause lazy niggas use recognisable material
Don’t mean the dope samples are not original
‘Cause a producer with skill can lace tracks
Keyboard beats aren’t that original, lets face facts
That s*** was overused in the G-funk era
Don’t give me that excuse, real MCs want better
You rhyme over enough s***, most get away with murder
Like kids who think they words rhyme ’cause they the suffix

Friday, January 21, Channel One News starts off with a song playing during the intro. The song is “The Glow.” Kids aren’t told the name of the song and the artist yet, but that will come.
As the program goes into its first commercial break, a voice-over tells children:
“The music you’re hearing in today’s show
is by RJD2.
Head to Channelone.com
for artist info, photos, and more great music.”
That was a commercial for a sleazy music artist. All done during taxpayer-funded school time. Where’s the principal? He or she is clueless. Teachers aren’t paying attention. Channel One News is a 12-minute, electronic babysitter for some of them. Parents of course have no way to easier monitor what Channel One News dumps into their child’s life. On to Number 5.

At Channelone.com kids are clobbered by the heavy advertising campaign to get them interested in and buying the music of RJD2. Parents can take some comfort in seeing Mr. RJD2 at least wiped the blood off his face for the picture below.

Below is a write up Channel One’s Christa Fletcher has written. She evidently took the time to interview Mr. Krohn.

This is the full Channel One News article about RJD2. It reads like a news story instead of ad copy. That is the extra value Channel One News can deliver to an advertiser. We can make your ad look like the news and it will have much greater impact on young people.
Not all paths in music are a straight line. For Ramble John “RJ” Krohn, it took a few years and playing different instruments as a kid to find hip hop. “I had sort of a meandering experience in music, trying, but not excelling — but enjoying it. I would pick up instruments and try them out. I played in bands when I was 15 and 16 and I later joined the jazz club.”
RJ discovered the hip hop scene at local events in Columbus, Ohio, where he listened to rap music and went to open mic DJ battles. “I was excited to see the contrast of my school, with students who were classically trained, but half-defeated about careers in the industry.” Throughout the mid-nineties he pursued this new world full of turntables, samplers, DJs, energy and possibilities. He helped with the production of rap albums, but in 2002 he released a solo record called Dead Ringer.
“It was much more successful for me than being a producer for rappers,” he said in a phone interview from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he now resides. Since then, RJ focuses on his solo career, remembering his inspirations like Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, Just Blaze and the multi-talented performer, Dungen from Sweden.
After a very busy 2010, RJ plans to keep the ball rolling with a side project set to release in February and a couple of EPs later in 2011. When he’s not producing, writing or recording, RJ is handy in the kitchen and with home improvements: “Manual labor and food get 90% of my energy outside of music.”
