Footloose with tax dollars

October 3, 2011

At the end of September Channel One launched the Footloose advertising campaign. Students will see commercials for the remake of Footloose on the in-school TV show Channel One News. There will be Pop Quiz feature story promoting Footloose too. Students will be told repeatedly to go to Channelone.com where Footloose advertising saturates the site. Channel One also is hosting a contest to push interest in the movie. School boards have no idea this type of nonsense is wasting school time and tax money.

Here’s Channel One’s September 28, 2011 show where an actress from Footloose addresses students. (You’ll also see that Channel One continues to censor its two commercial breaks. Between the three parts of the program are commercial breaks. Also notice the Marines are sponsoring a feature story on a tennis player. This violates Channel One’s two-minute commercial limit in its contract with schools. Of course, also notice how little news is in this “news” program.)
