Channel One's reporter/shill Jessica Kumari does a long promotional interview for the Disney movie "Chimpanzee." She interviews the directors of the new movie without informing students that Disney is paying Channel One News to advertise this movie.
Maggie Rulli doesn't waste time. The first thing she does as a new Channel One News anchor on April 27 is use her position of trust with schoolchildren to promote an advertiser. Good grief. With a history of being a "spokesmodel" Ms. Rulli may have little appreciation for keeping news and advertising separate. Also she should have told students that Disney is currently advertising the movie on the show. Ethics in journalism... it's a real struggle for the handful of people left at Channel One News.
