Jim Metrock: Jason Kuang is one of several relatively new faces to pop up on Channel One News. This sometimes means that more veteran on-air personalities have informed the company they are leaving at the end of the school year or sooner.
Mr. Kuang was on the show today. He probably enjoyed the fact that several million students watched him recite his news story. I hope Mr. Kuang feels at least a little uncomfortable knowing few students would have watched him today if it wasn’t for Channel One’s onerous viewing requirements.
Indeed, Mr. Kuang,Maggie Rulli, Scott Evans, and Julian Dujarric could have read Dr. Seuss books for the entire program today and their audience would be back the next day for more. [Channel One News MUST be shown 90% of school days, whether the school likes it or not.]
Pretty good gig, Jason. An audience that can’t turn you off. You may be the new face of Channel One News, but the longer you stay at this youth marketing company masquerading as a news gathering organization, the harder it will be to be for you to be taken seriously as a journalist.
