From Jim Metrock:
It’s Friday, August 8, 2014 and Channel One News hasn’t shown up for class. It is not surprising.
For the last several years, Channel One has started the program later at the beginning of school, and have ended their broadcast season earlier in an attempt to cut expenses.
Many schools have already started the 2014-15 school year. A whole lot more will begin classes next week.
Channel One’s first day of class is schedules to be August 18. The week after next.
Another reason for starting later is because of advertisers. Channel One serves its clients: advertisers, not schools. Advertisers want as many students in classrooms to see their commercials, so it only makes sense for the youth marketing company called Channel One to have a late start.
