From Jim Metrock:
Channel One has always considered the Tuscaloosa County (AL) school district a loyal “Channel One district.” This district like most in Alabama that still have a trace of Channel One’s presence in its schools, doesn’t care a whit about the Channel One contract.
The district’s Davis-Emerson Middle School has proudly shown Channel One News for years. The only problem – that is for Channel One and its advertisers – is very few students ever see the program and its commercials.
Breaches of contract like this must outrage Jack Lynch CEO of Channel One’s parent company Houghton Mifflin, but there is nothing Lynch or Channel One can do. This school district cares more about academics than Channel One’s kiddie marketing.
