The Coca-Cola Company last week announced changes in their marketing practices in schools. Their press release can be read at this link: http://www.thecoca-colacompany.com/news/index.html
Coke makes it clear that there should be no advertising in classrooms.
"“The classroom is a clean zone – and we’ve always been committed to promoting a learning environment that does not become commercialized,” said Jeffrey Dunn, President of Coca-Cola Americas. “Now we’re prepared to take this commitment a step further, reducing our commercial presence in other areas of the school environment as well.”
"We will not allow our school beverage programs to commercialize the teaching and learning process. This means no advertising in the classroom, and no mention of Coca-Cola in curriculum materials. It also means giving schools the option of using non-commercial signage on school vending machines."
