Channel One News asks students to vote on their favorite rock or rap songs. The top nine to twelve songs are then partially played each Thursday.
No principal or superintendent would ever approve such a moronic idea.
Well, Channel One didn’t ask anyone for permission. They just did it. Below are some of the songs Channel One has recently played on Thursday. Of course, they don’t play the entire song, just a snippet so the students can get the flavor of their favorite song.
Don’t get the wrong idea. Thursday is not the only day for rock and rap music on Channel One News. On the other four weekdays, the music is chosen without student input. Students will hear up to 50 songs while watching the show each week.
Pity the students in schools without Channel One. They have to listen to a teacher instead of rockin’ out to the blaring music from the TV set.

Who’s singing to students?
Robert ‘3D’ Del Naja
To get an idea about this band, here is part of an interview with “3D” the front man for Massive Attack. (From Innerview.com)
It’s been seven months since Mezzanine came out. You’ve had a lot of time to digest, remix and perform these pieces live. How are they holding up?
F*** me, yeah. It’s seven months isn’t it? It’s old. F***in’ hell. It feels longer than that even. I’m f***ing so bored of it. It is difficult to play the same things. We’ve played 75 shows and it’s getting more laborious every time.
How do you try to keep the gigs interesting?
By getting drunk. We’re onstage almost exactly half the time. I’m onstage every other song, except for two songs in a row during the end. It’s cool. It gives me more time to get drunk in between songs.
That’s what’s going on during every show?
F***ing right! [laughs] I’m not doing hair and make-up d’ya-know-what-I-mean? I’m just sitting there cracking a beer and [makes a puffing sound and smoking gesture].

“3D” is an Englishman who recently beat a child pornography charge. He was arrested along with Pete Townsend of the Who for using a credit card to log onto child porn sites. Charges against the Massive Attack singer were dropped because of insufficient evidence.
