From Jim Metrock: I was writing about David Drucker, when the news broke about Channel One being acquired by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Mr. Drucker was hired last year to be the Senior Vice President of Sponsorship & Advertising Sales at Channel One.
He was hired for the hardest. most challenging job in the United States: trying to sell advertising on an extremely controversial TV show airing during children’s school time.
No reason now to speculate if Mr. Drucker did a good job this year. If he had turned things around at Channel One, then ZelnickMedia would still be owning the company. Things didn’t turn around, so now Channel One is owned by yet another owner. This time look for the new owner to clean house.

Prior to joining Channel One News, Mr. Drucker was Director of Sales for Disney Channel, Disney XD, Radio Disney and RadioDisney.com, where he led Radio Disney and RadioDisney.com to record quarterly earnings. Before joining the Disney Channel, Mr. Drucker was Vice President of Sales at Captivate Network, where he was influential in helping to establish the company as a leader in the digital out-of- home industry. Prior to Captivate Network, Mr. Drucker was Director of Sales at Westwood One, where he oversaw 23% of Westwood One’s total ad sales revenue, which included three consecutive quarters of record growth.
